Headaches.
This is such a common ailment that it got to be combined into one word
from "head" and "ache". The problem with this terminology is that the
head, which basically includes everything from the neck up, is an
extensive piece to a larger whole. There is limitless possibilities of
what can occur in, on, and around one's head. So as anyone can see the
term "headache" is incredibly ambiguous and doesn't reach a proper
classification.
The reasons that someone's head might ache can be a laborious list.
There are many types of headaches, with even more causes and treatment
associated with them. Migraines: common and classic; tension/stress
headaches, cluster headaches, visual headaches, cervicogenic headaches,
temporal arteritis, sinus headaches, hypertension/fever headaches,
chemical/hormonal headaches, exertion headaches, circadian rhythmn
dysfunction headaches, and headaches from trauma are a few
classifications of the "headache".
Surprisingly, the most common form of headache treatment is
medication, or procedures that essentially "shut down" what is
perceiving the pain. Just by reading the above sentence you can see
there are plenty of different causes that would need to be addressed
properly in order for effective short term and long term treatment. It
is suggested to inform yourself on other treatments that look to the
cause of the symptoms rather than the symptom itself.
