Is Organic Really Organic?

Is Organic Really Organic?

It is becoming a widespread fact that organic foods are better for you and the environment.  What people don't know is that the organic or natural foods they have bought and trusted for a long time in supermarkets are deceiving.  Most well know organic products such as: Kashi, Odwalla, Brown Cow, Horizon Organic Milk, Green and Black's Chocolate, Back To Nature, and Burt's Bees have been bought out by the larger corporations in order to increase profit.  Any largely profit driven food companies process and use additives to preserve shelf life and eventually skimp on quality.

This means that organic or natural plastered on labels doesn't mean good for you or the environment anymore.  As long as there is demand for these types of products the large food corporations will make them out to be that way.

"Now what am I to buy for healthy food?"  "Where can I go?"  "Who can I trust?"

Local farmer's markets will be the best bet for fresh, organic, healthy food.  Not only are you getting products that are great for you and the environment but you are supporting your neighbors and taking care of the people that care about quality.
